TD has taken the dogs out for their evening ablutions, and there is a good chance she'll die in the horror show that is the Montreal weather. Someone remind me why I'm moving there again?
Oh yeah - True Love
I don't write about it online much, as I'm a fiercely private person. However - the outpouring of love and affection that TD has for me online deserves a response. So here it is:
Imagine never seeing colour in your life - that you have had no experience of it at all, everything is and has always been just shades of grey. Then imagine that as you grow up you read about colour, see films about colour, even have people telling you about colour. But you never see it. After a while you might decide that either colour doesn't exist, or just that you are incapable of seeing it. You have never experienced it, so you don't even miss it - you just think your life is what it is, and you derive pleasure from other things that you do know. It is possible to be happy and content without something you've never known.
Then one day somebody comes and shines a special light upon your world, and everything it's light touches floods with colour and warmth. There is radiance wherever you turn - so overwhelming that you can barely stand to look at the world around you. Initially there is shock and awe that such beauty exists, and then a brief lament that it has taken so long to be able to see this irridescence, and then at last absolute gratitude and wonder that you should have been granted this burst of glorious beautiful colour.
You go to sleep that night and wonder if the colour will be there again tomorrow. It is. Eventually you wonder if it would be possible to continue without the light and the warmth, and you hope never to have to find out.
That covers about 1% of what TD is to me. She walks upon my dreams, and beneath every step my dreams sprout forth into lush reality.
